One cool evening, the moon made a spectacular entrance over the horizon. Showing off its brilliant size and unusual colour - this photo has not been edited!
This is an optical illusion, where our eyes compare the moon with something that is familiar and it appears to be larger and shrink as it rises. Colour is due to the amount of dust in the atmosphere.
Not very shy Ground Squirrel at Prickly Pear Patch.
This female has been slightly habituated but she still behaves naturally and ever vigilant. Really great to view her close and great for the kids too.
Young male Leopard at Tholo Dam.
What a treat it was to see this super rare animal in the day in Madikwe, was a long sighting as far as leopards go. He quenched his thirst and then disappeared into the thick bush to carry out the rest of his business.
Two male Giraffes necking, this picture does not depict the strength of these towering creatures. There osicones absorb most of the impact with each bungy lashing.
To come across this sighting is pretty special, even though you can't actually see any animal here. It's one of those that you need to stop at and have a better look. This excavation was successfully dug out by the Honey Badger, notorious for it's aggression, stubbornness and being determined. But its super strength is its sense of smell, can actually smell critters at least a meter or more under the ground. This Honey Badger must have smelt the grubs from Dung Beetles and started his feast.
Egyptian Geese are notorious for being territorial but this one just wouldn't give up and ending up spending more time chasing this South African Shell-duck, rather than attending to his female who decided that she needed to go to the other side of the dam. When the male realized she was gone he seemed to be in two minds, stay with his female or continue the chase... he left the poor Shell duck in peace!
