The day was odd as it was hot and sunny and then became darker as if we were having an eclipse, which obviously drew our attention to the skies to see what was happening. There was this halo/slight rainbow around the sun absolutly mind boggling, and so beautiful. Further research from the 2014 Sky Guide shows that the halo is formed by light interacting with millions of ice crystals in high altitude cirrus clouds. Pretty amazing!
Woke up this morning with rain coming down steady, and what a relief it is. Its been so hot here and the bush has really needed it, from the look of this picture the animals need it to - this little shy creature popped out the rocks with a burst of energy running around in the rain. No real threat of birds of prey and snakes so Mr Shrew is taking full advantage of the situation.
